Gloria prepares for William’s memorial service.
…..
Michael and Heather talk about Jana as he helps her with the prosecution. Michael feels like Jana is faking her illness. Heather warns Michael that he cannot speak to her without a lawyer present.
…..
Kevin is going over profit/loss at the coffeehouse when Amber comes by and says she needs money and a second job. “All of God’s children need money,” Kevin quips. Kevin tells Amber he can’t hire her because he’s going to sell the coffeehouse and is talking to a potential buyer that night.
…..
Jack thanks Neil for the dinner the other night. He tells Neil he is planning a delayed honeymoon for him and Sharon. He talks about all the pressure that Sharon has been feeling lately with the trial and Nick. Neil tells Jack that he spoke to Nick regarding Sharon and respecting her new marriage. Jack appreciates the gesture.
…..
In the breakroom, Nick tries to lure Sharon into going on a road trip with him to do the Clear Springs photo shoot. He jokes and says they can sing along to classic rock even though she doesn’t know any words. Sharon says it would make Jack uncomfortable, so she declines. Nick understands and says they can just do the photo shoot locally.

Gloria arrives at the Athletic Club for the memorial in a bright red outfit with a huge flower on the neckline. Jack is there doing some reading. When he sees her, he comments, “Nobody told me it’s Mustang Ranch day today.” Gloria brags that it’s couture from Belgium. “Only six in the world, one owned by a queen!” she boasts.
“Drag queen?” Jack snips.
Gloria goes on about her money and how much her husband loved her. Jack tells her that a pig in a dress is still a pig. In a huff, Gloria tells him that she rented out the entire Athletic Club for that day and orders him to get out. Jack comments on her “garish display of alleged love”. He says he will sit there and continue reading.

Kevin talks to the buyer and calls the coffeehouse a cash cow. Amber and Daniel are pissed that Kevin is selling the coffeehouse to help Jana and not them. The potential buyer writes down how much he is willing to buy the coffeehouse for, saying it isn’t an offer, it’s “take it or leave it”. Kevin looks at the amount, laughs, tears it up, and says he pays his dishwashers more than that.
…..
Paul and Maggie discuss the secret DNA test that William ran, wondering who William was protecting. Maggie suggests it was Gloria, but Paul says it didn’t make sense.
…..
Michael opens Jana’s hospital room door. He quietly observes Jana without her being aware. She is creepily chanting, “Kevin, I love you” to an empty chair sitting across from her. Michael sneaks back out.
…..
Daniel tries to ask for his job back from Nick, but Neil comes and interrupts, telling Daniel to leave because he has been terminated. Neil informs Nick about the security breach that occurred because of Daniel’s porn addiction, and Nick agrees that Daniel should have been fired. Later, Nick tells his stepson that he will see what he can do for Daniel regarding employment.
…..
In Neil’s office, Amber asks if she can sing at Indigo again. Neil says absolutely not. He doesn’t care if she was Billie Holliday and Beyonce rolled into one. She’s bad for business. Amber tries to save face by stopping in the doorwary on her way out and tell him she’s not a bad person. This pisses Neil off, who throws a wad of paper and throws it across the room. He barely misses his co-worker, whose name I forgot because it’s been awhile since I’ve seen her. But they agree to go to the gym together where they playfully beat each other up.

Amber visits Cane at the Chancellor’s estate. He lets her in and listens to her talk. She has a lengthy monologue about how she shoplifted a Town and Country magazine from the corner store and hid it under her Spice Girls shirt so she could be part of the cool clique, but they laughed at her. She says she didn’t think she’d ever experience worse pain then that, but losing Cane was even worse. She hands Cane a piece of paper that says that she will never take a penny from Cane, that his money and her money will remain separate, always. She signed it “Amber Moore” rather than “Amber Ashby”, acknowledging their falsified marriage. She gets on her knees and begs Cane for a second chance. He shuts her up with a passionate kiss, and things heat up quickly. “Is this what you want?” he repeatedly whispers in her ear. They have sex in the Chancellor living room. Afterwards, Cane gets dressed. He asks a confused Amber how many men she’s slept with. “It must be in the double digits,” he says. “Twenty? Thirty? Forty? Isn’t this what you do? Isn’t this what you wanted?” Amber is in tears, thinking he is being hurtful and doesn’t mean what he’s saying. Cane goes on, “How does it feel? How does it feel to be PLAYED by someone you think is in love with you?” He proceeds to say he has a hot date at Indigo and he wants Amber gone when he gets back. He said she’s not lady enough to offer her a shower before she leaves.
…..
At William’s memorial, Ji Min and Jill arrive as guests. Ji Min offers his condolences to Gloria, saying his mother always told him, “You and your brother fight like you have the rest of your lives to make up.” Then Ji Min tells Jill the story about how he and his brother had a falling out when his brother was put in their father’s will, and not Ji Min. Ji Min was the oldest and felt he was entitled to it. “Sounds like you got mad at the wrong guy,” Jill observes.

Heather and Michael talk about when he went to check on Jana. He tells her his suspicions about Jana faking her symptoms, though she’s fairly convincing. He mentions they should put up ’round the clock surveillance. Kevin overhears and blows up when he finds out that Michael is helping the prosecution. At this time, Gloria delivers Williams’s eulogy. Michael sniffs the air in confusion and asks, “What’s that smell?” as waiters spray gardenia perfume in the air. Gloria explains that William would grow gardenias in his spare time. After the eulogy, a furious Kevin confronts Michael and yells at him. He blurts out that he is selling the coffeehouse to pay for Jana’s surgery. Michael thinks that is a stupid move. Over by the dessert table, Maggie and Paul talk about Gloria’s “eloquent” speech with straight faces. They then sneak off to an empty banquet room to make love. As Gloria talks to the guests and family, William (or is it a dead ringer for William, no pun intended) walks in. When Gloria looks up and sees him, she stumbles and falls over in shock.
